Vanessa is an experienced Executive Producer, Creative Director and Creative Artist with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment, education and environmental industries, particularly in the interactive technology and media space. Strong entrepreneurship professional, skilled in designing transformative digital experiences that drive social change, especially for elementary aged children, and adults. Veteran creative producer, professional writer, director, producer, composer, singer, actor. 

Currently the author of two books - a memoir and a queer romance adventure in a positive future, and a game that began as an idea in the second book. The game - currently titled The Coherence Game - helps groups practice into a new way of being - one that can lead us to a future we want to be part of. It is part of a major research grant, with leading trauma researcher Dr. Wendy D'Andrea at the New School for Social Research in NYC, and with leading healing justice trauma therapist Mariah Rooney.

As the Co-Founder and Executive Producer of DreamRider Productions, her plays and innovative, award-winning interactive media reached 1.2M children in 12 countries and 413 cities. 83% of families reported continuing the missions their children had led a year prior, compared to an industry standard of 4%; over 70% of children in lockdown reported greater wellbeing.  One of her shows ran for over twenty years (except 2020). 

Vanessa is a lifetime Ashoka Fellow; Ashoka is a highly-vetted network of the world's leading social entrepreneurs. She's also a "Positive Deviants"/Wolfwillow Institute Fellow, SheEO/Coralus Venture, BC Business Magazine Woman of the Year - Innovation Runner up and YWCA Woman of Distinction Runner Up.  At DreamRider, she won the TELUS Innocation Award, Canadian Hometown Hero and many other awards. 

Aside from DreamRider, Vanessa has been an independent solo singer/songwriter, theatre performer and creator for long enough that she's done all the shows in all the places.
